  1. I only have 46K on my TT which I built and ordered on line and waited for them to build and ship to me. Recently was told both outer tie rod ends must be replaced. I ordered and received the replacements but I cannot, for the life of me, get the old tie rods off. I have no problem splitting the joint but I cannot get them to spin off the tie rod. Does the factory use some sort of thread lock? Also, is it normal to require tie rod replacement with so few miles? I paid $130,000 for this car brand new in 2007 and have been treating it better than my wife! I have also gone through 4 sets of tires. I have been trying different makes of tires to find one with a long lasting compound AND good grip...Any suggestions? I would rather not let the local mechanic under my car as I believe he is into job security mechanics...if you get my meaning. Thanks in advance for any and all help.
