  1. Hello Everyone. I just bought a 1999 911 C2 6 speed. It has 96000 miles. When I received the car off of the transport the CEL was on and rear spoiler light as well. Most of the rear lights didn't work, nor did the rear spoiler. I quickly discovered a mouse had been living in the rear of the car and snacked mainly on the drivers side wiring harness. I removed the rear interior of the car and pulled the harness to the inside of the car and repaired those wires and removed the passenger side tail light and repaired a couple of wires there and on the harness going to to rear spoiler. I reconnected the battery and all was well until the second drive when the CEl reappeared. I used a basic ODB reader and got the P1539 code. The code is for Camshaft adjustment, bank 2. I cleared the code, and on the second drive the code reappeared. The car idles and runs great. I did a bunch of searching and feel like the Vario Cam solenoid and actuator are functioning correctly because of the smooth idle and strong revving. I closely inspected the harness on the passenger side of the car for any more mouse marks and didn't see anything. Should I look at the valve actuator or the solenoid or both? There is no point in asking the guy I bought the car from anything about it because obviously he didn't disclose any of these problems with me and I will take it up with him financially once I fix the car. Any thoughts or suggestions on anything else I should check before I have to take it 3 hours to the nearest Porsche mechanic? Thanks Tyler
