The OBD 2 connector is on driver side under the dash, same as all cars.

I suspect that the attorneys at the real Philips company will find and deal with this website soon.

I think Porsche's solution is that you actually insert your key into the door lock and turn and hold it in locking direction and that will roll up the windows.

I suspect the only real USA information on this sort of restoration lies with those few firms performing 6-figure or more restorations on Porsche, Mercedes, etc. where original equipment is no longer available. I also think it's pretty likely the original supplier was http://www.mp-design.com

Transfer over the expansion rings that the screws screw into as well.

Once I figure out how I did it on my VW and what does what, I'll explore adapting it to the Boxster, as for me it's yet another of those things that once you've had it you don't want to go without it.

My '01 is Rain Forest Green as it appears your Boxster is as well ... and your seat remodel look great.

Three pieces per seat at $1-1.5K each will get pretty expensive. We'll see.

The numbers I believe I require are

#1 996 521 141 01 EEE

#4 996 521 151 05 C50

# 5 886 521 161 05 ESF

The 141-161 progression of numbers leads me to think these are related parts.

I'm at least pleased that the heating elements are separate--on a Mercedes I had once they were sewn into the upholstery.

My 2001 Basic Boxster has "Graphite Gray Partial Leather" upholstery.

The parts DVD is a bit confusing here, as I'm unsure which sections are leather and not.

Would like to learn part numbers for all pieces (back and seat) to replace what I have.

If possible part numbers to convert to all leather if this is feasible.

It's been a while and memory is hazy, but I did get this to work on my New Beetle, although the application chart does not list it. The basic difference IIRC is that that car had different wire colors than the rest, but a little research revealed all functions are the same.

Perhaps someone could adapt this to the 986.

Thanks for the part number--I was previously unable to find these items in the parts DVD searching by option code.

Also, since posting I've discovered these screens apparently install from the rear rather than the front, so will try again (on the passenger side).

My 2001 just purchased came with one (driver side) stored in the front trunk.

Can't figure out how to install it.

Where can I get the right side?
