  1. In all my other cars I would have said the bulb. But I just figured in the Boxster this would mean replacing an expensive computer display or something. Can i change the bulb myself or will it take a trip to the dealer.....75 miles. Thanks as always.... Brad.
  2. All my other displays are working...even the miles per hour above the blacked out section. Anyone else have this happen? Trouble??? Cost??? Thanks... Brad
  3. Thanks, belt was just changed at 60000 mile service in Feb. I'll check fluid and report back. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> OK, I checked the fluid level and it's OK. It happened again...this time the steering wheel seemed stuck after I stopped the car and came free with a little pop at the the front wheels after I played with the steering wheel. Almost like the front tires where stuck on something. ?????
  4. Thanks, belt was just changed at 60000 mile service in Feb. I'll check fluid and report back.
  5. That would be too easy. Do I need to get the expensive stuff or will a "over the counter" fluid do?
  6. Twice in the last month I have pulled into my parking lot at work and seem to lose my power steering, and then regain it when I turn the wheel back and forth a few times. Both times I come up a little rise, quickly, into my parking spot. I'm not crazy,, I think. Any ideas. Thanks.....Brad 99 Boxster
  7. OK, please take it easy on me guys. I'm sure this is an old topic of discussion, but I'd like the best opinion from the experts so here it is. I need new tires. I'm easy on my car, never over 100 mph, mainly 85 tops, no racing, although I do enjoy a back road whenever I can. I'm not rich so I need one good set of tires for year round driving....that means some snow for a month or so a year , here in Lexington, Ky. Boxster 99. Thanks as always.... Brad
  8. Update on Mr. Clean. At first I thought this was a God send product. Oh well... I quess I wanted it to work so I convinced myself it did. Maybe it's like most first versions on things....the second and third will be better. This product just doesn't live up to the hipe, takes too much soap, too much rinse time and cartridges...and you can do a better job by hand. Sorry if my first post got someone to buy one...Brad
  9. Ok, I got impatient and jumped on my lug nut wrench while attached to my wheel. Snapped the special locking socket right down the middle. Where and how do I get another? Thanks guys..... Brad
  10. I've got a 99 as well and have had the same thing happen. I just figured I needed to improve my take offs. I've stalled three or four times since I got my car in February, and I've driven a stick for 30 years. I'm getting better.
  11. Is there really any reason not to use a normal coolant vs Porsche coolant? At stop light the needle sits from the left of the 0 of 180 to the right side of the 0. Any need to be concerned? Thanks, as allways.... Brad.
  12. Call me nuts but I tried a new product today that is almost a dream come true. Mr. Clean auto dry car wash system. This stuff drys SPOT FREE. No hand drying. Since we all seem to hand wash our cars, I thought this might be a good thing to share...... Brad
