  1. Hi guys I'm trying to refit my 996 front bumper. I start at one corner, screw it in (behind the indicator) no problem. Then the bit between the headlights lines up and screws in no problem. However when I get to the far corner, it won't line up with the screw holes. Almost as if I can't get it to wrap around the body tight enough. Any ideas?
  2. Hi guys My 996 3.4 is showing the fault code "Cylinder 3 misfire". Should I start by changing the plugs, or the coilpack? Thanks in advance!
  3. Thanks for that! Oddly enough it worked fine after the switch was correctly installed. I fail to see how that is possible but I'm not complaining! For reference I'd highly recommend the Picquik Teeny Turner as the tool of choice for the job. Those retaining screws for the switch are a sod!
  4. Hi guys, I'm new here. i hope to contribute to the site in the future, but for now I have a problem. Here's what happened: I bought a 1998 996 C2 3.4. Last week the ignition switch failed so I sourced a new switch (Audi/VW part) I couldn't get the old switch off the back of the ignition barrel, so I just unplugged it, and plugged the new switch in and left it dangling. The car then started and ran fine by turning the switch with a screwdriver. The car was then left for a few days, during which the battery went flat. After charging the battery the following problem has occured: 1. The drivers door key lock just spins freely, without locking or unlocking the car. No resistance whatsoever! Remote central locking doesn't work either. 2. The car will not turn over or fire when using the screwdriver to turn the new ignition switch. The keys are still in the barrel, I figured in case they need to cancel the immobiliser. Any help would be MOST gratefully recieved. I can offer nothing but my thanks, and possibly some naked pictures of my girlfriend if required! :D Thanks Ben
