  1. Palo Alto says they don't do anything with 996 instrument clusters. Any other suggestions?
  2. I have a 2001 C4. The trip odometer reset does not work. I have removed and disassembled the instrument cluster. What I found is a metal shaft instead of plastic and a rectangular box at the end opposite from the knob. I assume this is a switch. Can I replace the switch and if so where do I get one? Lang G
  3. Thank you for the response. Very helpful. You said that that in fo is a snip from the Essential Companion. Page reference? I have that book but have not found the above info. Lang
  4. My 01 C4 coupe just underwent a number of maintenance items including IMS, RMS, clutch, AOS System, water pump, cooling system hoses... On the way home from the work the ABS and PSM lights came on. The Durametric showed an ABS fault code of 5526 plus several accelerator pot errors (P1219, P1577, P1578). I can't find any information on the 5526 code. Can't find any list here. Can someone help? Thanks, Lang G
  5. Thank you gentlemen. I was kind of planning to replace the battery this winter anyway. Will the Durametric system turn on the CD changer? Thinking I may need to add one to my tool box.
  6. Hi all. I have an 01 996 C4. I am in the process of adding the CD changer in the trunk. I have the correct bracket and harness. The hardware mounts really simply as the body is predrilled and the carpet is pre-cut. Where I have a concern is in running the harness. Through the outer wall into the battery compartment on the right side is easy. Now where? Where do I go through into the cabin? Is there a Tech Data Sheet for this? Appreciate any help on this. Thanks, Lang G
  7. Hi everyone. I have a 2001 C4. I am interested in adding the CD-3 CD changer to my car. Several questions. Are there any other parts besides Changer, bracket, harness and misc. screws required? Where does the changer get mounted in a C4? Same place as a C2 ('behind' where the top of the spare would be) or other? Cant find pictures. Regards, Lang G
  8. I have seen foam bits but I had the fan out and it turns freely. I do not have a Durametric (yet). Would the Dealer's system be able to detect a problem with the CCU? What can the Durametric detect? Lang
  9. 2001 996 C4 Coupe - The fan has just stopped working. No a/c, not defrost, no heat. I checked the D6 30 amp. fuse and it is ok. The fan runs on 12v supplied at the plug socket on the fan. I replaced the resister. What else can it be? The CCU seems to be woking. The lights light up and the fan speed indicator moves up and down with the +/- buttons. How can I test the CCU? Thanks. Lang G
  10. The lid with wing is a bit more: ENGINE LID - 2001 Porsche 911 (99651290100)Shop for related parts in LID & COMPONENTS List Price: $6,695.34 You Save: $1,996.56 (30% off) Sale Price: $4,698.78
  11. I wanted the 997 GT3 style wing. I'm over that now. Where can I find an OEM replacement for that price? I am interested.
  12. Last one. But what does it fit? I am likely going to be stuck with it since UPS wants over a grand to ship it to Hong Kong.
  13. Thanks. I bought an aftermarket recently that turned out to be about two inches too long from front 'tip' to rear (straight line) and about one inch too narrow. Was wondering what it was really for. Lang
  14. Hi all. Where do I look to find the P/N on my 2001 996 C4? Regards, Lang
