I tried this, but there are not hand-held remotes available for the Homelink device. I have searched far and wide, and there is none. So I guess I am not going to be able to use the device in the car.
pnocero replied to pnocero's topic in 987-1 Boxster Convertible Top Issues and SolutionsThanks, I guess I better drain some out. But since I have put nearly 2,000 miles on the car with no change in the display, I need to ask if there is any history of this display not working, or maybe some wire being disconnected so the display always shows "full"?
I tried contacting Homelink but they are completely useless. They keep talking about my garage door opener, regardless of how many times I tell them that it is a light switch. They told me to contact my car dealer, I guess because they have no idea what to tell me. Has anyone else had this problem with no hand-held remote to use to set the Homelink transceiver??
I have purchased a 2007 Boxster, and the oil level display shows fill "over the top" -- all the bars including the top one are white. The dealer where I purchased it told me they tend to put up to a quart of oil over the standard capacity as this won't hurt anything and provides a bit more protection. I've put over 1,800 miles on the car, and the owner's manual states that I should be using up to two quarts of oil for this distance driven. The in-dash display still shows "overfull." My questions are: 1. Is there any problem if the dealer did in fact put extra oil in the last change? 2. Is there any history of this display not reflecting the actual oil level? Is there any way to confirm the actual oil level (other than draining and measuring it)? I've considered draining the oil into a clean pan, checking the change on the display to make sure it works, and then re-adding (and re-measuring) the oil. Any other ideas or recommendations?
I have a Homelink receiver device to turn my garage lights on and off. My other cars (Jeep, Acura) allow me to program its built-in Homelink transmitter by using the "install" function of the receiver in conjunction with the "learn" capability of the Homelink transmitters, It works well. But I find that it seems like the only way to program the Homelink button on my Boxster is to have it "learn" the transmitter codes from a portable remote control. Trouble is, my Homelink receiver has no remote control, and I can't seem to locate any universal or similar remote control that activates a Homelink receiver. My questions are: 1. Is there any way to program the Boxster Homelink transmitter without using a remote control? 2. Does anyone know where such a remote control for a Homelink receiver can be purchased? 3. Has anyone else run into this problem and found a solution? Thanks. I'm getting really frustrated with this problem.
