  1. Big trouble I believe. Got off the interstate, drove 1/2 mile and while stopped at a light heard this horrible grinding noise (sounded like something metal was caught in the fan belt. Slowly pulled off out of the intersection ( still grinding) and turned the car off. Then the car dumped its oil on the ground. No leaking while I pulled out of the intersection. Oil seemed to be coming from front of engine based on my examination as it was being pulled on to the truck.

    Sound like a rod? I have never heard of this a a problem with the 996s. The car only has 14000 miles and the oil was changed 2000 miiles ago.

    Any thoughts?
