  1. Well whoever guessed an intermediate shaft was right. 14000 miles and a new engine for 15K---that is a buck a mile!
  2. Big trouble I believe. Got off the interstate, drove 1/2 mile and while stopped at a light heard this horrible grinding noise (sounded like something metal was caught in the fan belt. Slowly pulled off out of the intersection ( still grinding) and turned the car off. Then the car dumped its oil on the ground. No leaking while I pulled out of the intersection. Oil seemed to be coming from front of engine based on my examination as it was being pulled on to the truck. Sound like a rod? I have never heard of this a a problem with the 996s. The car only has 14000 miles and the oil was changed 2000 miiles ago. Any thoughts?
  3. Has anyone had problems with a vibration coming from their PSE? A very irratating sound as if the movable balle is vibrating.
  4. I am looking to remove these from my 2004 4s to install a radar detecting system(K-40). Are there any instructions floating around on the removal of the covers or for that matter a stealth K-40 installation? I have done a nice install in a Boxster and I assume thaey are similiar. Any direction appreciated.
  5. Yes, drop the OBD connector down and you will see a green/violet wire (top row of wires to the far left as I recall). You can use a crimp on connector and not disturb anything. I installed the sam unit in a Box S and am planning on installing it in the 4s I am getting.
  6. I just recently traded my 2001 Box S for a 2004 4s Cab. I had both the PET and the shop manuals on CD that I obtained from someone selling them but not sure who. Are these available for the 2004 911 series? Just joined this board and I am impressed so far.
