  1. 66,ooo miles and so far zero mechanical engine problems. niggles: peeling fan/temp buttons out of warranty homelink buttons came apart had to reattach and use crazy glue slight vibration from front wheels. dealer cannot fix intermittent cd stuck in radio intermittent random dash lights dealer can't find in black box rear torsion bar tightened after dealer found it loose besides these annoyances the car has run amazingly well. CPO runs out in August 2010
  2. Thanks for link. link to photos is stale but instructions are 996 specific.
  3. You won't be disappointed. Great guys. You should join the New Years Day and Thanksgiving day runs that TRE "unofficially" organizes.
  4. Anyone have a diagram or instructions on how to remove the center console AC control unit (beow radio) thanks
  5. It might be worth your while to look a bit more south of LA. there are many independents in South Orange County i can think of. If i were to go anywhere in LA and trust their opinion it would be TRE Motors. They're incredibly trustworthy and do amazing work. 6. i would sit in your car with the door open and look at teh overhead switches in the dome light. there is a set that will control if the footwell lights come on when you have the door open. i think the middle position is automatic and the left/right toggles turns them off or on manually. thse are seperate from the individual driver/passenger light switches
  7. what about the PPI? didn't they drive it? that's pretty sloppy. is the same shop that did the ppi the one replacing the clutch? fish and denmark come to mind...
  8. i'd spend a good night reading your manual as far as chrono goes. i tried to figure it out a few hours before track say and didnt get beyond learning how to reset the timer on dash every other round. it's a pretty complicated piece of equipemnt. only other advice is: don't lift don't brake in corners slow in-fast out and...the car is more capable than most people's abilities. i would also enable the sports settings but DON"t disable the traction control!!!!!!!!!!! check your tire pressure throughout the day and as you run more and they warm up you might want to let out air. Have fun! marc
  9. sweet! thanks! Rattle problem is solved. :clapping: One of the two pins of the chrono watch had too much clearance inside its hole on the pod. I fixed it by placing some cloth tape in that hole, so it reduced the clearance.
  10. thanks. unfortunately the trim and unit is 997 specific. appreciate the help! marc
  11. thanks paul, now i know what's under there! if anyone has any instructions as to removal tips and sequence it would be much appreciated.
  12. hi, Anyone know how to remove the sports chrono display on dash? this is for a 2005 S trying to get access to it to create a mold. TIA marc
  13. Does anyone have instructions on removing console side panels to get AC switch unit out? thanks in advance marc
