I posted a pic of a Porsche airbag that looked like a pair of boobs in the lounge at 986online and the dumbass that owns it banned me for it. What a dip**** he is.
Hey Jim, post that here and see what Loren will do. My guess would be the same result. Rules are rules. You were booted from the 986forum over a year ago, and you still appear bitter. Just let go and move on. Life is just too short. Take care.

I am very interested in puchasing the Cayman side vent kit for my 987 Boxster
can anyone direct me to a site or a company that sells the entire kit frames and vents.
much appreciated
Try Bumperplugs.com They should come painted and with instructions for installation.
Yes, and Eric at Bumperplugs is a great guy who does awesome quality work & service!!!

Hi Jwolfe, the 987 started with the 2005 model year.
-
Did Porsche have Variocam in 1999?
-
jinijazz, this might help you. They don't match SY...but neither do the PCCB. Just a thought.

Best stuff for leather is Soffner from www.colorplus.com!

Ojancke, are you aware that the PSE connects to the DME? I don't know if this helps you.
Do you have Sport Chrono?
-
Ojancke, how do you like the PSE? I am thinking about adding to my 2006 987S. Thanks for the help!
-
Slowmo, do you have a light down by the center console that says when the airbags are de-activated. FYI- I still use a booster seat for my 6 year old.
Congrats on your new 997! Awesome!
-
The airbags in my 2006 987S are automatic and the "smart airbags" type. They turn on or off based on the passangers weight. My daughters are 6 and 9. When they sit in the car the airbags automatically turn off. You chould check out the Illinois DMV web site too.
I am surprised the 997 does not have smart airbags.

You can see these on the www.suncoastporsche.com site.

My local Pcar dealer had a PCA special in march - 25% off labor and 15% off parts. I got the exhaust and pse tips installed for ~2075 + tax. This was without the switch. To add the switch would be approx. another $500
Thanks for the info, Gleek, that's a great deal.

Here are the part numbers for the Boxster (987) and Cayman bras:
Cayman PNA 503 987 03
CaymanS PNA 503 987 04
Boxster PNA 503 987 01
BoxsterS PNA 503 987 02

UPDATE: Took it to the dealer, they indicated that the cam cover wasn't properly tightened. Resealed it and it shouldn't leak. Hopefully, this is it.
On another note, while it was at the dealer, I had them throw on the PSE without the switch (always on) and love it. Can't imagine having a 911 without it now. Well worth the $.
Dealer experience was very good too.
Gleek48, I am very glad your car is fixed! Would you please tell me how much the PSE was for your car? Parts and then the labor amount. This would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Call your Porsche discount parts provider...they have Bras now for the 987, 987S and Cayman.

Here is a great way to clean glass:
1) Windos need to be cool and not in the sun
2) Use a solution of distilled water and denatured alcohol- 2:1 in a spray bottle
3) Spray solution on a clean, white 100% terry cloth towel
4) Clean window
5) Buff dry with a different, clean 100% white terry cloth towel.
I use this method for all of my Concours events...and have won a few!

Thanks Nick will check them out but I dont have a sample to send! and I am not fully faded, I just need the name for option BE in 2000.....
It seems impoosible to get!

Hey, I got great news from Porsche today regarding Porsche Sport Exhaust (PSE). It will be coming out this summer. Here is a copy of the actual e-mail I received from PCNA today:
"Hello:
The Boxster S is a great vehicle!
We will be offering the PSE around May/June of this year. We are currently assembling the kits and are in the process of having them shipped from Germany. There is no current pricing for this as of yet. I assume that will be done around the release date. The part number for the kit will be 987 044 200 00. I hope this information helps and have a good day.
Best Regards,
Adam Miller

Before you order, check out the leather dye and other leather products from www.colorplus.com. Highly recommended by respected Porsche concours people.

You really don't need climate control in a convertible! Much better things to spend $550 on.
You're probably right. In fact, MAX AC is a nice feature, especially in the South.
Hmm, so what should I spend my money on? :) j/k
Don't drive with the top down and the AC on!!
Using Nitrogen to fill tires
in 987-1 Series (Boxster, Boxster S)
Posted
I use nitrogen fill in my tires. I like it a lot. I just got done with a 6-month winter hibernation, with NO flat spotting and the tires only "lost" about 2-3 PSI during the storage period. Prior to storage, the tires were overinflated to 58-59 pounds.
Many local tires store do the nitrogen flush & fill for about $20. That's about one week's allowance for Starbucks!.
Costco fills all new tires with nitrogen.
