Here is a good link:
http://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English/MotorO...ls/Mobil_1.aspx
They are not the same.

#2 is the newer product.

Already? How many miles do you have, Soetekouw?
-
Are there vendors that sell spacers(17mm) with bolts???? I have a widebody kit and in desperate need of spacers. Thanks

Thank you, Berty987!

Have you checked-out RUF??
www.rufautocentre.com/parts/index.asp
-
Just get them painted or PowderCoated.
-
You can see some good examples on Eric's web site at www.bumperplugs.com.

Would I be able to add the PSE from the 2007 Boxster to my 2006 987S?? Will this be made available through Tequipment? Thanks.
-
Tweety, why take the oil out? Just keep adding a 1/4 quart at-a-time (every few minutes, to give time for the oil to register) until the dip-stick reads at the top of the full range. Then, monitor from there.
-
Bad motor mounts?? Worn belt??
-
The instrument surround is barely seen during driving.
-
Tweety, the most accurate oil level read will be first thing in the morning, prior to driving.
-
Paul, you hear a lot of good things about Red Line and Royal Purple.
-
The typical labor time, they charge for, is about 8.5 hours.
-
Sorry.
Not uncommon.
Repair for RMS should be closer to $1,000 though.
-
Bag Man, just a thought, you should buy the parts from Suncoast Porsche, and work a deal with the dealership you are considering to install the parts at "cost" for labor or make part of the final deal.
-
Hey Bag Man, this link should help you. Good luck:

I just got my car back with my new (remanufactured) engine. Any suggestions on engine break-in other than the Porsche recommended guideline of keeping the RPMs under 4200 for 5000 miles?
Lee
The recommendation is under 4,200 RPM for 2,000 miles, not 5,000.

IMO< the best thing you can do is make sure you are not running 0W40. Switch to another approved weight such as 5W40.
WHY?

I just started hearing this same sound you guys are all describing. My thoughts are similar to Masterbm...its a disturbing sound since it just started after I crossed the 6000 mile mark on my '06 987. Also recently noticed that after I drive the car for a while and go on idle, there is a crackling sound, kind of like leaving a coin in a dryer. I guess its time to see Mr. Service.
Jimher, also have them check for TSB# 1726- for control piston in oil pump.

$175 is a fair market price.
I pay about $110 here is Chicago. I have seen prices as high as $250. I have paid about $70 when I brought my own oil.
This is your first oil change on a 2001? I hope someone did it prior to you!

In the Warranty Book (page #10 and 11 for the 2006 987) it states:
Your Responsibility for Normal Vehicle Use
To be driven on reasonable road surfaces within legal speed limits. Porsche guidelines specify reasonable mileage to be at least 15 miles/24 km per day or 6,000 miles/9,600 km per rolling 12 months.
If you drive less than the above mentioned limits, or in the event of prolonged storage, contact your local authorized Porsche dealer for instructions.
NOTE: A battery maintainer is available at your local authorized Porsche dealer. It must be used to maintain your vehicles's battery state of charge if your vehicle will not be used for several days.
From manual climate to auto climate controls?

You really don't need climate control in a convertible! Much better things to spend $550 on.
