2010 C2S 108K miles I was planning to replace the plugs. I went to remove the mufflers. They were very corroded - especially the two I do not have to remove. I used penetrating oil (acetone + AFT). They are much prettier, but they are still corroded. Here is a 1 min video of the bolts so you can see what I am facing: Questions: If I get started on removing them and it does not go well, what next? Surely I don't have to replace the catalytic converters? Are the bolts somehow replaceable? Do they look too far gone?
2009 C2S 110K miles I am getting what I think are increasing erroneous oil level readings..... What finally tipped the scales for me was my last oil change, always DIY. My oil read two open bars under full line... I checked this twice when hot. I drained out just under 8 quarts...... I added exactly 8 quarts.... now my gauge read at the lowest line, all mid bars open, I checked twice again the next day with now a FLASHING underfill.... So... I added just over 1 quart... now my meter read one over full!!! Next day, exactly full. Hmmmm........ am I too paranoid? After I drained 8 and a
Got a new to me 2010 997.2 Carerra S. This is my first Porsche having owned a series of BMWs. I watched a number of DIYs on the oil change and it seemed to go off without a hitch. I warmed up the engine prior and let it drain for about 3 hours while I attended to other things. I changed the filter and put in 10qts of oil. Now the oil level light says it is over full. I guess that is ok as it was eating about a quart a month which seems normal to a BMW owner. I figured it would drop over a few weeks but it hasn't. Now about once every day or
Dear Forum, Preparing the (possible) purchase of a 997.2 C4 cab here in Europe. It has the PCM3 unit installed with 'extended' navigation. On the options list, there is no mention of 'Bluetooth' or 'phone', so my guess is that it is not present. Perhaps the forum can advise me on some related questions: What would be required to retrofit the original Bluetooth hands-free function? (I'm not looking for option to insert a SIM card in the PCM3) I found somewhere that this is not just a software update, but involves a module (the Bluetooth radio?). moreover, also the microphone would
