PCM 1 MAPS CD, what is it? NAVTECH but which one?

Recommended Posts

I went on the navtech site but can't find porsche in their manufacturer list!

anyone an idea? Does it mean I can only buy the CD's at my OPC?

thx

If you have pcm1 8 bits, only porsche supply discs (2000-2) but if you have 16 bits then you can buy opel ncdr to run your pcm nav.

regards.

so on pcm 1 only porsche discs can be used?

damm

car is a 2001 so 8 bits?

pcm1 8 bits --> only Porsche disks. (last update 2000-2)

pcm1 16 bits ---> from 02/2001 to 07/2002. There is a porsche tequipment update to 2004. If your soft version is 5.43 you can use opel disks and then you can get total update to 2006.

If you are not sure you have 8 or 16 bits, you have to pull out your pcm navi computer and see part number: 996.642.122.00, 01, 02 --> 8 bits. 03 and 12 ---> 16 bits.

  • 3 weeks later...

I bought a 2004 Opel NCDR from Ebay but I was sold a backup and it did not update my sat nav.

The system was trying to initalize and you hear a lot of seeking sounds from the CD drive.

I assume there is some kind of copy protection on the original disc?
