Best Year Since 1986 Record; December Sales Up 109 Percent

ATLANTA, GEORGIA, January 5, 2003 -- Porsche Cars North America, Inc., (PCNA), importer and distributor of Porsche sports cars (Boxster, 911 and Cayenne) in the United States and Canada, announced today its best calendar year since 1986, when PCNA reached its all-time record of 30,471 cars. The company sold 28,416 cars in the United States, up 33 percent from the previous year. In addition, PCNA sold 2,797cars in December, up 109 percent from the previous December. North American Porsche sales, including Canada, totaled 30,028 cars, 33 percent higher than the previous year. Of those cars, 13,661 were Porsche Cayenne sport utility vehicles, 9,935 were Porsche 911s and 6,432 were Boxsters.

We have proven the naysayers wrong" said Peter Schwarzenbauer, PCNA President and CEO. "The Cayenne is a hit in North America, outselling our expectations. The 911 has been strong, despite a difficult economy and low consumer confidence throughout the year."

New Porsche 911 models, such as the 40th Anniversary 911 Carrera Coupe, 911 Turbo Cabriolet and 911 C4S Cabriolet, continue to drive sales. Porsche recently announced two additional new models at auto shows in Los Angeles and Detroit, a V6-powered Cayenne sport utility vehicle and a special edition of the Boxster S commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Porsche 550 Spyder.
