Dension Ice Link Gateway 500

Recommended Posts

Has anyone had experience with the new Dension Ice-Link Gateway 500 iPod head unit adaptor for 2003+ models? I have a CDR23 in my 2003 Boxster, and apparently this Dension product integrates with the fiber optic inputs. Curious if anyone has installed one yet. It would be great if this works for our cars!

This afternoon, I installed the Gateway 500 in my MY03 C2. I purchased the unit from maxxcount.de in Germany two weeks ago for $509 USD. Install was painless and took around 30 minutes. Only thing left to do is configure the head unit to recognize a CD Changer, which Autobahn Porsche in Fort Worth, TX will do for no charge.

Looks like a pretty nice system but I am curious about a couple of things. Which head unit are you using? Curious if the song/artist info come thru the display on a CDR-24. Also, when you leave the ipod in the holder, does it turn on and off with the system?

Hi, 911bkk,

I'm looking for someone that has install Icelink Gateway 500 with a CDR23 last 3 months with no success. My local dealer told me that it is not possible to install this gateway in a CDR23-only installation (no CD-charger, no telephone, no bose...), but I think it is only lack of knowledge.

There is a problem with the link you have for the photos, can you send it to me in a PM?

All the info suggests it will work, but I haven't found anyone who's done it either. I'm wondering how good the interface actually is on a CDR32 though.
