Surprised with Cayenne Turbo mpg/performance

Recommended Posts

We took the wife's '04 Cayenne Turbo from Sacramento to San Diego to El Centro to Tuscon and back over the last week for Thanksgiving week visiting all of her relatives.

Just over 2300 miles averaging 54mph and 15 mpg. Most of it on the freeway was cruising around 85 mph although there was one burst through the desert in AZ of 130 for a few moments just to break up the monotony.

Would have thought you would have got better mpg, unless the blast was for a long time :)

We also did city driving for a couple of days in San Diego and El Centro. It was probably only 15% of the mileage in cities/towns, but probably accounted for 45% of the time the car was running.

I've never been able to get more than about 17-18 mpg on the highway though, so I thought the combination total of 15mpg was pretty decent.
