"check engine" and "days till service"

Recommended Posts

2005 987, with 6200 miles, about a month ago a "check engine visit workshop" message appeared, no performance changes, just the message, took it to the dealer, they told me maybe bad quality gas or something, message erased, yesterday same message no performance changes, and a "9 days till service" message also in there, today the "check engine" disappeared, but the other one is still there, bought the car new 18 months ago, looked in the manual no information on this, service intervals are 18500 miles or two years, anyone know whats going on.

thanks

Hello,

The service interval counter in the instrument cluster is probably not reset by delivery at the client, ( new car ).

PIWIS - instrument cluster - special functions -reset service interval.

The dealer is able to see by using the PIWIS tester what's wrong and fix it ( message erased is too simple ) before the 24

month warranty ended.

Regards

RFM
