2004 cayenne remote key programmed and cut

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I just bought my first porsche cayenne s, used and I only have one key. I just bought an uncut key with remote and wanted to know how much it will cost to get it cut and programmed. And also is this something the dealer can do or must it be sent away to be done?

Thanks

To Quote Scooby Doo- Rotsa Ruck!

I was told that you had to order a key directly from the dealer, and give proof of ownership. It comes to you already cut. Dealer told me you can't get the key blank for the new key cut any other way. THEN you have to go to the dealer and have the key programmed, along with the remote. Unprogrammed key won't start the car, but will set off alarm in the parking lot! :) I have a friend at the part's department, and still spent $400 for the total package- key, two button remote and programming. One dealer said $130 for programming, the other did it for $70. This was for my 03 Carerra, not the Boxster, by the way. Not that it matters, but just in case...
