hi all

carrera 3.2 1987 year model

the engine is in need of a rebuild the vehicle has done 136,000 miles and is burning oil a bit and fouling the plugs up . can anyone advize me on whether the bottom end will need doing as well ? it has good oil pressure and no rumbles ! so i was hoping to get away with valve guides / rings basically a top end rebuild

any suggestions or thoughts greatly recieved

thanks simon

Im in a similar situation, mine 3.2 sse 1987, is in need of valve guids its done only 65k. Some say to do the lot whilst the engines out but thats a lot more wonga. If it had 100+ miles on it then i would do the bottom end. On the strip down it may show that it needs it. Think im going for valves, guides & rings on mine.

Let us know how you get on.
