retrofiting brake rotors...

Recommended Posts

Tried this post over in 986 brake questions but didn't get much response. So I'm looking for help over here... I've read that 986 calipers are used on the 987. My goal is OEM cross drilled rotors without having to upgrade my 986 non-S calipers. The 987 has the cross drilled OEM rotors I want. Do they fit my 986? Anyone with 987 rotor specs? Suncoast motors website does make it look like the front rotors off a 987 will fit the 986. They don't make mention of the rears. -Tom

The 986S and 987S use the same front rotors/ disks and pads and presumably calipers, these are 996 parts . The 2.7 model 986 and 987 use different rotors they are thinner so the caliper offset is different, hence the caliper is a different part. If you are keen to do this mod , match up the parts using the on line parts Catalogue PET.
