Airbag deactivation bar bolts

Recommended Posts

I recently purchased a used child car seat and airbag deactivation bar. I noticed on the TSB for the installation that the bar is attached with 2 M10 x 35 Torx bolts that are supposed to be included in the kit. Needless to say, mine came with no bolts. Are these something that every dealer has on hand or am I going to have to find some to get this installed?

The bolts for the bar are a bit longer. Seller must have removed the bar and put the longer seat bolts back in. See if the seller has the original standard bolts and if the seller can put the standard bolts back in and send you the longer bolts.

I am almost positive in the old days you could buy just the longer bolts from Porsche, but I cannot find them in the current PET. Might ask Loren.

longer bolts did come with the seat assembly, so the tech would take the shorter bolts and put in their tool box and insall the longer bolts. after installation the airbag bag control unit needs to be coded to recognize when the child seat is attached.
