Hard wiring my sattelite radio

I would like to hard wire my sat radio and am wondering about the best way to do this?

Should I use a fuse tap and find a ground or pop the cig lighter out and wire into that.

I do not have a fuse panel diagram and was unable to locate one on the forum.

I have a 1999 , 986.

Any help would be appreciated.

There are two hot leads, a ground and a TP mute wire behind the center stack. One hot is switched the other stays hot.

Just remove/pull off the small carpeted piece near your right ankle to access.

Thanks Mike. The lead was there just as you stated.

For all of the other people that are wanting to do the same..The Sirius sat radio cig plug also acts as a voltage step down , to 5 volts I am told.

So I had to leave that original plug in line and plug it into a seperate female plug.

All of this was able to hide away nicley under the centre stack.

Don't use the cigarette lighter adapter at all. Fish around back there and find the cell phone power that comes factory. Hardwire to that and you'll have no cords at all!
