Cayman S spare tire

Has anyone been able to find a spare tire, full size or one of those mini inflatable tires, that will fit in the front trunk of the Cayman. I know the car comes with a can of sealant and an electric pump, and a prayer, but that doesn't sound that reliable to me. I don't want to be out of town one weekend and get a sidewall cut and be out of luck. There must be some answer to this.

The 996 17" 105/90/17 wheel , will fit in the front trunk and is probably the cheapest option , when bought from a breakers. The correct spare is a 165/60/17 and will set you back about 450 pounds or 900 usd. I have the 996 wheel in the front trunk of my 987S boxster, and it still leaves space for a decent sized suitcase. Do not get the 16" wheel from a 986/996 as it will not clear the brake calipers on the S version 987 cayman/ boxster. The rolling radius of the 17" 996 wheel is slightly smaller than ideal, but to get you to a tyre shop it will work just fine.
