My local shop has a set of 04 GT3 18' Wheels (brand new) for sale @ $1800. Would they improve the handling of my C2 Coupe, currently fitted with 18' Carrera 5 spoke with 225/285 P-Zero Corsa? More importantly, would they make the handling worse assuming that I would use 235/295 tires? Many thanks.

GT3 MK2 has now the same rim/tire size as the TT, 11Jx18 w/ 295/30.

This the wider rims and tires will definate give the advantage in curves but will have a negative impact on straights.

the GT3 has ca. 60hp more than the C2, so that propably isn't the biggest concerns for the GT3.

I'm driving a set of rims from 4S/TT, 11Jx18 w/ 285 at the back and that feels excellent in the curves!

IMO, why not getting that set of rims for that price!

Do you already have the AeroKit on?

cheers,

Tony

I am also thinking of installing the Aerokit, so the GT3 will make the perfect match. Anyway, I was concerned that the increase in the front tire size would make direction changes harder. Presumbably, the car will also accelerate less quickly due to more friction and unsprung weight. Would it?

excellent choice, GT3 MK2 is also my favorits!

friction - I would say you will get an awesome grip from stand-still acceleration and the friction on roll will propably impact Vmax.

235/35 front, will match the 295/30 at the back, due to balance it out for the narrow-body 996, for not getting to much over-stearing, that is propably the GT3 MK2 got the 235 up-front.

cheers,

Tony
