Changing navigation to kms instead of miles

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I bought a 2006 Cayenne S with navigation in the U.S. and brought it back here to Canada.

When i use the navigation, it gives me directions in miles and yards...is there a way to change it so it gives kilometres and metres instead?

Thanks,

Sam.

Hey Sam, it is easy to change it via the screen options when in the Nav. Nice thing is you can be selective of Imperial and Metric for things in the Gauge Cluster. I find MPG and PSI better then L/100Kms and BAR. Also let me know if you want to change you US Gauges to KMs? I just did and it is much nicer. Cheers

oh that's great to hear! I couldn't find any option in the Nav display to change it over and I don't have the navigation manual...any idea which options I need to scroll through to toggle between Imperial and Metric?

And also, yes, I'd love to change my cluster to KM's! How expensive and hard is that to do?

Well page 23 in the PCM Manual, but you can do all your settings and such once in the Main/Set menu.

To get there push the lower left "MAIN" Button and you will see "Main" in the upper left corner of the screen.

Once there press Button 20 "SET" just above the right Rotary knob. This should have in a new screen showing

"PCM system"

"Main display"

Using Button 18 (Right Rotary Knob) select "PCM system" and click in Button 18.

That should take you to a bunch of system settings you can select.

For the Mile to KMs there are many choices of Face gauge styles and colours. Runs about $400 but looks way better. Yours is a LED back lit system so you have many more choices. I have the Aluminum Trim and went with Aluminum Gauges which turned out very well. About a hour or two to do being careful is all.

Cheers

Is there a place you can recommend to get the gauges changed? I'm excited to do that as well now!

Thanks again,

Sam.

Well the gauge kits come from Germany, Not sure if your local Porsche dealer would be willing to do this mod? I am sure a local Import shop would attempt it. You can do it yourself as it is pretty straight forward, just need to be careful is all.
