Electrical Problems?

Recommended Posts

I need some big help! I have a 02' Targa and was changing out the two 12v bulbs for the driver side sunvisor lighting. I did not disconnect the battery because I thought it wasnt necessary. Anyway the bulbs that the dealer gave me looked like a redesigned one with made in france on it. I did not know there were two bulbs that go into the sunvisor, so I only put in one, my question is could this have triggered an electrical short? Because the next moring none of the following items worked inside the car :

1. Both window switches (does not go up or down) the buttons light up but do not work.

2. Main lighting unit above the rear mirror ( none light up )

3. Central lock does not light up nor does it work

4. Rear window defroster does not light up nor does it work

5. Key alarm no longer works / beeps twice when trying to manually lock the car from outside door lock

6. lighting on both doors are out as well

* the only thing that works is the main instrument cluster/targa roof/and all front and rear exterior lights/rear window wiper/and psm switch/ all these seem to work fine.

all this happened when I changed one bulb from the driver side sunvisor without disconnecting the battery.

Thanks to anyone who can help.
