Carrera 4, 1990 please help

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I''ve just bought a great Carrera 4 year 1990 which came with no manuals to understand the dashboard. Anyway, there is an indicator next to the gas gauge that I have no idea what it is for, it seems to me that is related to oil level or oil temperature, the thing is that when I have the enginge running idle the gauge goes up to the the middle of the range but when I rev up the engine the indicator goes down to the "read/orange" zone, is this normal? what is this indicator for?...also I would really like to understand all indicators, is there a description/manual of each light indicator somewhere else than the original manual? or where can I get a copy of the manual?

I just want to make sure that I''m not running the car in the wrong conditions.

thanks for any help you may have.

/Luis

Been ages since I've seen a cluster in a 964 but if I think it's the oil level gauge. Check the oil level when the oil is up to temp, vehicle level, engine idling and use the dip stick in the engine compartment as the level gauge might not be accurate.
