Does anyone know the exact process to painting the rubber bumperettes?

Do they sand, epoxy or coat them some how, then sand again prior to primer & paint ?

Is it better and/or do the factory newer painted versions fit the earlier versions of the 996...? (You know the ones that that are not made of rubber and come painted)

<_< If they do indeed fit how much do you think a new set will cost fs. just having a body shop paint them? (Any feed back as to experience will be greatly appreciated)

Thanks for the info... I have a guy here locally who claims to know how to do it and is far cheaper than bumperplugs.com...

I just wanted to make sure though that he knows what he is doing. Thus I was hoping to get some info as to the steps. It would be nice to know too tips or tricks as well... (i.e. is clear coat is needed???).

If the guy you have locally claims to know what he is doing then is he going to guarantee his work? If so, then I see no reason to go for it. My guy locally did mine for 1/2 of what bumperplugs wants. Heck I bought my aluminum look rear center console (OEM part from the dealer) cheaper than they (bumperplugs) are charging to just paint it. In defense of BP, I hear they do great work but that is still no reason to overpay.
