windshield wiper blows fuse

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know what would cause the wiper to blow fuses. It worked good for a while and all of a sudden it stopped working. Found out that the fuse was blown. I replaced the fuse and after one swipe, it blew again. The only thing I can think of is it probably has something to do with the cupholder mod I did last night. But I'm confused why It worked good for about twenty minutes and then blew. 00 C4.

The fuse fails due to excessive current draw. I've no idea what the cupholder mod is but undo it and see if it corrects the problem. Be sure to only replace the failed fuse with one of the correct rating for the circuit.

I removed the cupholders and saw some raw wires touching metal. I used electrical tape and taped everything that looked suspect. Wipers work like a champ now. The cupholder mod is moving the climate control to the bottom and installing cupholders in the top part of the console.
