Emergency Hood Unlock Procedure

Help. My battery died. I have tried hooking up a donor battery to the red pullout jumper and the door latch, but the switch still does not work. The battery is fully charged and starts my other car, so I doubt it has anything to do with the battery. I positive attached to the red jumper and the negative terminal connection to the door latch. The key is in the door and the alarm should be off. Anyhow, it does not work.

I have read here that there is a wire I can pull to open the front hood. It is supposed to be under the driver's side wheel well cover. I have the cover off, but I cannot see the wire that I need to pull. Where is it? How far forward is it?

Supposedly there is also a wire for the rear truck under the driver's side rear tail light. I can't find that either. The light is obviously very long. Where should the cable be?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Garrett

Try another ground point - the door latch may not do it.

Just tried the rocker arm and it didn't work either. :-(

OK. Like what?

The bolt on the "hinge" seems to work on my car. Also, there is a bolt that holds the seat rails down - you have to move that little plastic cover to expose it. Sometimes you just gotta try a bunch of different places to find a good ground. They seem to be hard to find sometimes.

Anything with paint or a coating on it will not work - or anything aluminum.
