Valentine One with window tint

Was driving down the high way with Valentine One mounted just below the rear-mirror; traffic was light, weather was good, and all of a sudden there was a Cop with a laser speed gun standing at the side of the road!! before I can scream "SH*T"!! I was passing by him at about 50 mph (speed limit 35 mph).

I didn't get pull over, but was shocked that V1 did not give me any warning at all!! it was like... V1 didn't even work!!

Yes, I do have a 10% clear film on my wind shield, but still, no warning from V1 at all. But I know the K & X band warning works on the V1 cuz it beeps like crazy when I pass by the grocery stores.

Need to find a good laser detector, anyone knows an alternative to V1??? (Cops in Hawaii uses only laser speed guns)

Perhaps the policeman didn't "lasar" you.

Perhaps he "lasared" you but the lasar didn't hit the Valentine One. Lasars don't fan out like radar does so if the lasar was aimed down low at your front license plate or bumper it is quite possible the lasar never hit your Valentine One so it never sounded a warning.

I have had my Valentine One for almost nine years and have only had one ticket and that was with an instant on radar that caught me at night as I crested a hill.

Lidar is a very small diameter beam and is aimed at flat surfaces like a front license plate. Detector needs to be mounted low to detect it. Especially if you are at close range.

I disagree with this. I have been saved many times from laser by my high-mounted V1. When a car up ahead is hit with the laser, reflections of the beam can be detected from a fair distance.

If your front plate gets hit with laser, it is already too late.
