Wheel Dynamics replica wheels

Recommended Posts

I was interested in updating the look of my 987 with the 997 turbo style 19" wheels from wheel dynamics. I asked about weight and was told that the replica wheels they sell are about 4lbs heavier per wheel than OEMs. I know that OEM P wheels are light weight, so are these replica wheels truly heavey, or just more normal than the OEMs. Futher, if I am not tracking the car or anything like that, would I even notice the extra weight in normal everday (sometimes spirited) driving? These wheels look fantastic are are a little less than half the price of the OEMs and wheel dynamics seems to be highly recommended on this forum as well as others so I think the weight thing is my only issue. What do you guys think? Pic below from thier website.

I recently put aftermarket wheels on my 997. They are heavier than the stock wheels and I do notice a subtle difference. However I do not track my car and love the way they look. It just depends on what you want. Like 70Sixster says.... More Unsprung weight is bad no question about it.

Guess you just have to weigh the pros and cons..

Would not buy from Wheel Dynamics. Their service is questionable at best. Purchased wheels for my Boxster and they put the wrong size lug nuts on one of my wheels. It's been rubbing up against the parking brake and am waiting for them to send replacements. Their response has been, how can I be p.c., laxidasical. The owner didn't have the courtesy to return my phone calls and didn't have the stones to come to the phone.

DO NOT BUY FROM THESE GUYS.

If I sound pissed off, I am.
