957 bi-xenon headlight problem

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I recently converted my 04 CTT to the 957. Everything is perfect except the headligts.

All lights are working fine. Leds, foglights, dipped and high beam, cornering light, indicators etc. But as I start the engine, I get a "check sidelights" warning, and when I use the high beam immediatly gives a warning "check high beam" although it's working. But when I use the high without the dipped beams on, it doesn't gives me that warning.

I'm kinda confused, what should I have to do or modify ?

Thanks a lot.

The way a lot of these systems check for burned out bulbs and such is looking for a certain resitance level via ohms. Infinite ohms means infinite resistance which means burned out wire/bulb. But I don't think they check for infinite, but they do expect a certain amount, for example a short to ground would reveal no resistance and trigger a fault.

What I would do is measure the resistance using an ohm meter for the side markes with your original side markers in place. Then find out what the 957 side marker resistance is and see if there is a difference. If the resistance is lower, then it will be easy. Use resistors to match your old looms resistance with load to the new one. If the resistance is higher, you need to find a way to lower it, different bulbs etc. Or worst case you will need to wire up relays directly to the battery and then use a resistor pack to "simulate" the old load with the old lights.

You will have to do the same thing for the high beam.

Let me know if that doesn't make sense, but that is where I would start.

Do you want to post your wiring diagram for your lights and side markers from the old to new? I may be able to look up some parts that may help.
