Was hearing a ticking noise from the engine compartment on the way down in 2nd ~ 3rd gear from 3 to 2k rpm down.

Brought it to my local in Dubai and next thing I know, Im replacing full connecting rod set and bushings, crankshaft bearing, piston rings and all related.

Seems it started with a broken bearing and I am told Im lucky i brought it in when I did and unlucky that this happened . . . . . . my car is a 4s 996 26,000 mile on the engine treated with loving care.

Bummed for two reasons,

1) two weeks of waiting for parts then repair

2) 5 figure repair price.

Anyone heard of this before. . . . ?

Maybe unlucky but still love this car. . . .
