Need Advice on Trading

Recommended Posts

I have a 1999 Porsche C2 Tiptronic with 92,000 miles. I am interested in getting into a little newer and more dependable model. What would be better? A 2007-2008 Cayman or a 2002-2004 911 C2? My budget would be around $30,000. I figure trade-in on the 1999 would be around $17,000 (long way from original $67,000)! I need some advice from the experienced. Thanks

Well, what do you like?

Personally, I do not like the Cayman so for me it's a hands down decision - 911 all the way.

Wholesale on the '99 is a startling 15K. Mine was 77K new so yes, it's a pain point.

That being said and not trying to be facetious - I look at the Cayman sort of like I do the Boxster. It's not a 911.

I appreciate the advice. I have never driven a cayman, but I do no I do not like the boxster. I really love the 911 and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts about a IMS upgrade? With 92,000 on my is it worth the money to get it done?
