996 C4 2002 PCM fuses...

Recommended Posts

I am writing hoping that someone could help me regarding a problem a i ve in my PCM unit. Any info or help would be greatly appreciated.

A few days ago my alternator give up working ( regulator ) , and in the process of replacing/send it to Bosch, I had to disconnect the battery , remove it and everything else…no short circuit was done in the process. Anyway, when everything was put in the right place, I notice the PCM was completely dark ( really off, not dim ) . I ve notice that fuse E6 was blown and replaced it (regarding the E8 fuse it was ok ).

But is seems it is not enough…I read in an older post of LOREN that there are more fuses….Can someone help me , or give any link to where are the other fuses and how to reach them ? Is the next/my last hope the one on the back of the PCM unit ?

Thanks a lot for your help ! I really don't wont to go to my Porsche dealer for this  ….

There is a fuse located on the back of the PCM also, i would try with a reboot first. Disconnect both battery terminal cables from the battery, connect them to each other with the help of a jumper cable for about 15 minutes or so, reconnect the cables on the battery and try again. If no avail, check the PCM fuse on the back, if the the fuse is still OK, a PIWIS tool is recommended for further investigation.
