Memory Seats and Key memory

Recommended Posts

:cursing: I recently bought a 2001 Boxster S. The car has power seats with driver memory.

When I use the remote to unlock the car the drivers seat changes its position. I have changed all three memory locations to be where i like my seat and it still returns to this preset setup each time i open.

I dont have a manual for the car yet - it was missing and the dealer is ordering a new one for me.

How do I change the settings for the seat that are stored against my key?

Thanks to anyone who can help - this is beginning to drive me insane!

I guess it's the same as my MY 2003. Put the key you want to use with the seat position you are about to set in the ignition and switch on. Put the seat where you want it. If you want the passenger mirror to swivel down as a parking aid when reversing, put the car in reverse gear. Using the buttons on the sill, keep memory button M depressed and additionally press the Key button beside the memory button. This seat setting should now be activated when you unlock the car using the remote on that key. You can repeat the whole process with up to 4 keys, ie for 4 different drivers. You can also set the M1 and M2 buttons near the sill to work manually - just switch on, set the seat, and press M with 1 or M with 2. That way if you have opened the doo with someone else's key and got the wrong setting, you can press 1 or 2 (assuming your setting is one of those) and the seat will hit the spot.
