Hello from new member - a total porsche nut

Recommended Posts

Hello all from troubled and -sunny no more- Athens, Greece . while i am trying to figure out how to make a donation to this forum i joined earlier today , i thought to drop a line and introduce myself.

First things first, my ride is a 2003 Porsche 996 Carrera 2 Tiptronic in Basalt Black Metallic with Nephrite Green leather interior ( i must be one of the few people who love this color ...LOL) has only 52000Km and its weekend driving basically. My C2 has various options and these include Porsche Sports exhaust with deactivation switch and Porsche Sports Suspension - not the best of ideas for the Greek awful roads but its only the MO30 RoW. Has the usual toys, heated , sunroof, phone , PCMII, rain , dimming etc etc . No BOSE though .... I have installed the 911 Anniversary plague - bottom central console which i think is a great aesthetic add on for the 996, found in suncoast autoparts after lots of time of research .... . i have also found an original 996 fire ext holder in red and i think thats pretty rare ( ?) and with the fire exhaust looks pretty good me reckons .... I dont know if that counts but i also ride another Porsche , a Porsche Bike S in Carrara white ....

Prior to Porsche , was in the UK for nearly two decades and there i had BMWs , E36, E46 M3s both SMGs and a couple of 7ers inc a 750iL and a 5er . Like beamers BUT love Porsche . I am really pleased with the 996 , have had it for over 4 years now , never has any problems or whatsover and its always great fun for me to drive. Not long ago I had a really good deal for a 997 Carrera S ,manual heavily loaded with all the goodies inc Sports Chrono but decided not to swap my 996 yet ...

I will post some pics when i find the right section to do so as i am new here and have posted btw a question on retrofitting the footwell lights and switch in my car which for some stupid reason i really want to have , any info / feedback/ links will be appreciated

Anyways , i have been studying a lot on the 911, have driven various in Greece inc a couple of GT's and hope to be able to make some contribution to this forum also

all the best

G
