My Cayenne (2006 base 6 cyl) is having problems with the air conditioner. Allready checked the compressor and the pressures are fine no need to add 134 gas. When you are stopped the air is not cooling. When you start running in the freeway it starts to cool but not in the same way it originally does. What can be the problem?

The AC technician told me he can not do anything else because the system is within especifications regarding the 134 gas.

Loren please advise.

Thanks

Are the cooling fans operating correctly? The only way your AC Tech could properly verify the amount of Freon in the system is to evacuate the system and weigh the amount collected. If he is determining volume by measuring pressure alone this can be inaccurate as it temperature sensitive which can display bogus readings.

A good Tech can determine the Freon amount knowing the system capacity and the pressure & temperature. There is a pressure/temperature correction chart that will show quantity as long as the capacity of the system is known.
