2001 cabrio top deck and top only click....no movement

Recommended Posts

My convertible top stopped working on my 2001 Cab. It just makes 2 'clicks' when I push the switch.....and continues to make the double clicks every 8-10 seconds if I hold the switch down. Even the back cover deck doesn't open. I followed the manual operation and tried the switch after each step. Still no movement. I checked all of the fuses related to it, all good. Wouldn't the cover deck work even if the top itself is low (or out) of hydraulic fluid? Before I tear everything down to get to the hydraulics and cylinders, is there something else I can check? Thanks

i had a problem like that and it turned out that the engine cover was slightly open, even though it didn't look like it was open. opened it all the way and closed it and it worked fine. may not be your problem, but worth a try before ripping the car apart. - cheers, alan
