Opinions and info on Billy Boat exhaust

Recommended Posts

I am looking for opinions and any information you can share about the Billy Boat exhaust for 2.5L '97-'99 Boxsters. I'm not in the market for a new exhaust to replace my stock one but I can get a brand new one for $500. Also, is this a good price?

Thanks!

My impression of BillyBoat on a 2.5L Boxster is a loss of 3-6HP. I don't know where I formed this opinion, but it was when i was surfing PPBB 2 years ago - so I might just be blowing smoke. I am fairly confident the Billy boat doesn't help a 2.5L and I am almost positive it will hurt a 3.2L.

I wouldn't pay $500 to lose HP but some folks might choose to trade HP for a louder exhaust.

Thanks for the feedback. I was lukewarm about the idea when I heard about the offer so rather than bite, I sought advice. I would much rather spend the $500 towards suspension parts.

I'll be passing on this exhaust. The funny thing is that my local Porsche dealer is where they are on sale.
