Playing CD/Radio with Engine off (PCM 2.1 SW4.0)

Recommended Posts

Being a "Porsche Noob" I noticed, while playing with my PCM2.1 SW4.0 (Engine off) that after a while a warning is displayed that the system will shut down to save the battery.

Now I must confess, I love to park in a nice summer night, convertible open, with some nice company under the starry sky and enjoy - besides other things - music...

Do I have to do without now???

Or is there a trick to keep the system running (e.g. no navigation and/or display off etc.)?

Sorry Frank, i fear that yourself will have to sing. I do not know of a trick to bypass the system. Maybe repeat the procedure could be a solution, but risky for the battery, an empty battery will you definitely not have in the middle of the night.

:-D I guess I would lose my company quite fast...

Regarding the battery topic: I can not imagine that playing a CD for an hour or two would drain the system that badly?

With a fully charged and a battery in good condition would indeed not be a problem, but there is not always an indication of a weak battery till the problem occurs, and then you are in trouble.

Hmmm... I would be willing to take the risk!

However, so far, I do not know how to convince the system to stay online :(

My only hope is currently that this is setable via the PIWIS Tester!

I launched a request via the Porsche webpage... I will see keep you posted!
