Navigation System is not available error

Recommended Posts

When my wife started up her C2S Cab at the weekend, she got an error on the screen saying something like "Navigation System is not available" as soon as the PCM came on. The rest of it seems to work OK - radio etc.. I wondered if something was up with the DVD, so tried to take that out, but there seems to be no power getting to the DVD drive - at least pressing the eject button doesn't do anything. Is there a seperate fuse for the navi/dvd? Is there somewhere I can look to try and diagnose the problem, or is it a visit to my local specialist?

I have found with mine that if the DVD drive is busy trying to read the disc for example it will ignore the eject button! Try pressing it 3 times in quick succession, it usually does the job on mine. I will be taking my drive out in the near future to get the laser replaced, apparently a common issue and a cause of random "the navigation disc is unreadable", "please insert navigation DVD" (when it is!) and general locking up of the maps, non functioning cursor etc.
