'98 Boxter long list of issues

Recommended Posts

I purchased a 1998 Boxter today and got it home to start tacking the gremlins. The lot I purchased it from, wholesale, didn't have the time or inclination to get it working properly. Now I fear I may have bitten off more than I can chew. It recently had a dead battery, which they rectified, but they couldn't get the frank or trunk open for me, which allowed me to purchase it very cheaply. I assumed that the dead battery put the car in some kink of "lockup" mode, and figured I could get it squared away with a little research and some elbow grease. As of now, I am able to get in the trunk and frunk by using the handles on the driver rocker panel. I cannot however get the windows to roll down or the doors to lock with the central switch. I also cannot get into the fuel compartment, the cover is locked closed and the cable on the passenger side A pillar is gone. Does anyone have any advice, or should I take it to a dealer and see if they can undo the central lock? Also, it has an aftermarket radio and a second fob that unlocks the doors and trunk.

1998 Boxter, 986, left hand drive, silver in color.
