2014 Cayenne GTS clunking noise

Recommended Posts

This is my 3rd Cayenne and in less then 1 year of ownership it's had more major issues then the other 2 and of course it's the most expensive out of the 3. Just got it back a few weeks ago for coolant spray all over the engine bay (dealer replaced T-Stat, water pump and hoses). Anyway last night when I pulled into the garage when I put it in Park I heard a loud clunking noise, which I could duplicate over and over by going from drive (with foot on brake) to park and at times it would do it from park to drive. Never heard this before...Valve body issue, bad solenoid pack? Any suggestions?

Welcome. I doubt it's a valve body issue as that fault usually affected the early models. It could be a mount or even something left loose or misplaced in the engine bay, I can only suggest you return to the dealer and have them inspect.

+1 for taking it back to the dealer.

How bad was this coolant spray issue? I know in the older V8s where the hoses would let go the resulting mess would actually damage other components (starter and xfer case seals if I recall correctly) if not cleaned up throughly and quickly. Maybe this is a side effect of your coolant issue?
