964 Acceleration Problem

Recommended Posts

I put a 964 engine in a 914 Porsche a few years ago. It has always run great until recently. It starts and idles fine but during acceleration (as the accelerator pedal is depressed) it just goes flat. It misfires as if the fuel delivery has been shutoff. If I depress the clutch while holding the throttle open the engine just continues to misfire (rpm does not increase). If I back out of the throttle it will run fine again. Fuel pressure appears to be OK and I have tested the MAF sensor per several videos on YouTube and can not find the problem. Anyone have any ideas / suggestions?

I removed my 1990 964 C4 motor and transmission. Replaced clutch, cold air kit, plugs etc. Re-installed, all went smoothly. Hit the key and no start..cranks and cranks but start. after investigation.. no power at fuse 20 thru 23 and 30 thru 34.. I have checked and rechecked and it doesn't make sense to me what am I missing?

      Okay guys,
Anybody have pictures of a 996 with a classic huge whale tail spoiler grafted onto the rear deck?
I love the look of the classic porsche's and recently got a line on a cheap spoiler...but have yet to see images of anybody else's rendition of this.
      Let the arguing begin! :P

My normally reliable 1991 c2 has been at the mechanic for a week trying to figure out why the battery is being drained while the car is off / parked.
There is an intermittent 16 amp drain that seems to occur momentarily every 6-15 seconds.
      Any ideas?
There was an old TSB about water getting into the doors and shorting out the locking system I think.
I'm really hoping that it is a simple matter. I miss my daily driver.
