987 Roof part help!

Recommended Posts

I found a felt covered piece of black plastic on my drivers seat. I've had the 987 2.7 for 2 weeks and I think the parts come from the roof and maybe broken off something.

The part is about 5 inches long by 1.5 inches wide. The dealer has the part and says it's something that may have been left in when the car was at the factory but then how could it have been on the drivers seat? I think it may be something that makes the fabric roof lining push against the plastic roof rail as this seems less pushed-on than the other side and there is a 1-4mm gap above the drivers head.

I've been fobbed off by garages before and I know the part was not in the car before. It also has a broken edge as if it's snapped off.

I've attached a pic! The plastic is very brittle and it has a recycle number on it 1 8... but snapped right there.

I'm picking my car up from the dealer tomorrow and feel fobbed off!! Any help would be great.

My photoshop attempt attached!post-5316-1115235426_thumb.jpg
