3.6 to 3.9 or 4.0 upgrade injectors

Recommended Posts

Hello 996 collegues,

My M96.03 has bore scoring and as the cylinders will be updated, some capacity increase is will also be done.

In the 3.8, 3.9 and 4.0 L upgrades from 3.6L have you used the stock injectors or gone for bigger ones and which ones in that case.

I think Ecu tune will be needed anyhow. Maybe the first starts can be done with the stock setup and let Ecu to adjust with lambda etc, but for the max power the Ecu optimization is needed.

Thus as the max power will increase some, maybe the injectors need to step up a bit.

Any idea if the 3.8L injectors will fit the 3.6L engine. The 3.6L seems to be 12ohm, EV-6-E and 3.8 is EV-14. Both seem to be High impedance. I have seen some bigger injectors as 15 to 16ohm. Can the Ecu handle the 16ohm injectos also?

BR,

Piethein
