automatic convertable top

Recommended Posts

I've recently read and subsequently tested out the "one touch" feature of the convertible top. Speeds above 10MPH and below 30MPH (I believe??), the convertible top will open/close with a quick tap of the button. Drop below the minimum level, and "BEEP", you get a warning on the dash indicating your top hasn't finished opening/closing, and you're stuck holding the button down until the top comes to its final resting place.

Now, I can totally understand and appreciate the need to limit the convertible action for speeds above 30MPH, but am I the only one left scratching their head wondering why the automatic opening/closing ceases once you drop below a certain speed?

Time to find that work-around ...

At >10mph doors lock preventing occupant to exit and get head jammed by the top.

makes sense, who knows...

I take it automatic door locking on drive off is something the dealer can program.. is there a "list" floating around somewhere of all of the options you can have set?

Door locks are a PST2 programable feautre. There are 3 modes. All are in the manual as are other features you can have. (oops....I just re-read that and it sounds a bit condescending....my apologies in advance if it does...no intent).

I found that when I read my manual cover to cover I kept saying....."hey, my car doesn't do that" and off to the dealer I went. Normally they would charge for these but since I have just bought the car they did it gratis.
